Alan P. Duesterhaus serves as the principal for Duesterhaus LLC. Dr. Duesterhaus has extensive experience serving nonprofit organizations in various capacities including as a Vice President for Advancement and as a board chair. Having served as a volunteer and as a staff member in various nonprofits provides perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing everyone involved in moving an organization forward. This has included crafting strategic plans for new and existing nonprofits, creating case statements for organizations to garner outside support, and formulating brand strategies to best position the organization. Educational institutions are of particular interest given the significant impact they have on society. In addition, Alan has experience working in the education finance industry as well as starting his own retail business.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in history from George Mason University, master degree’s in counseling psychology from James Madison University, a doctorate in higher education administration from Vanderbilt University, and a post doctoral certificate in management and marketing from University of Florida.
